Optimised passenger and luggage flows
Charleroi airport is of great regional economic importance, and has become a key local employer. The opening of a second terminal in early 2017 is helping the airport develop further. ENGIE Fabricom makes sure that passengers can check-in quickly and safely, and that their luggage is sent to the right flight. The baggage sorting system installed in the new terminal by ENGIE Fabricom can handle the needs of 10 million passengers per year.

ENGIE Fabricom designed, supplied and installed the baggage handling system:
- 6 check-in lines
- 2 arrival lines
- 1 sorting carousel
ENGIE Cofely is responsible for maintaining the baggage sorting system, electrical installations, air conditioning, water management and fire detection system.
