ENGIE Fabricom contracted to install radars at about twenty junctions

ENGIE Fabricom was awarded a public contract by the Walloon Region to install radars at the junctions with the worst safety record in Wallonia. These radars will detect and identify motorists who jump red lights.

Our teams are already working at four locations where speed cameras will become operational in the first half of 2019, namely the N63 in Neupré, the N3 in Ans, the N5 in Loverval, and the intersection of the N958 and the N93 in Suarlée.

State-of-the-art technology

The radars that are currently being installed are among the best available. The cameras have 20 million pixels, which means they can monitor up to 150 metres of the road, and simultaneously measure speeds of up to 300 km/h of multiple vehicles across four lanes.

Safer and more sustainable road transport

This project reflects ENGIE Fabricom’s commitment to improve road safety and traffic flows. In addition to smart traffic lights, our teams offer a whole range of technological solutions, such as systems that encourage multimodal transport, number plate recognition systems (including low-emission zone systems), systems that monitor traffic flows, and intelligent LED lighting.
