ENGIE Fabricom is helping design and commission a new incineration line for the ICDI (intermunicipal waste collection and processing company).

The joint venture formed by ENGIE Fabricom, as the largest party, with VINCI Environnement and BAM Galère won the contract for the design, construction, installation and commissioning of a completely new incineration line in the waste incineration unit of the Charleroi region ICDI, together with the implementation of some changes and improvements to the current installation. More specifically, the teams will design and install a new furnace and unit for energy generation, and review the smoke extraction and processing system.

The site’s energy generation in terms of heat and electricity will be greatly improved by recuperating the energy released by the incineration of 55,000 tonnes of household waste from the ICDI region every year.

Our employees started working on the project in late October 2016, which is planned for completion in late 2018. The commissioning of the new installation is scheduled in the first half of 2020.
